July 8^th 2009

 

Attendees : Hima Chandra Bollineni,  Nitya Niranjan, Hema Marreddy, Suri Raman , Gopal Iyengar , Dev Raj Sharma , Srinivas Khedam, Santhosh Nair, Satish Darbha

 

Excused:  Amulya Das, Subbu Kandikattu.

 

Absent:  Sastry Mukkamala, Ramu Iyer.

Minutes:

1.       Prayer: 7:10 pm to 7:15 pm.

2.       Hima Chandra Bollineni welcomed everyone to the first meeting of EC.

Senior members pointed out do's and don'ts while you are a member of the committee.  They suggested all the escalations should go through the President and discussions takes place in the committee should not be discussed to anyone outside.

3.       Each of the attendees introduced themselves and signed the code of conduct.

4.       Hima Chandra and Suri Raman briefly described on their expectation on Memberships, Finance and few other topics. Many of the attendees expressed their opinion and ideas.

5.       Below Subcommittee was elected.

Nitya Niranjan - Vice President/Operations Committee Chair

Suri Raman - Jt Treasurer

Reports will be submitted by assigned members during the next meeting.

 

6.       President pointed out that the event dates on the calendar printed by the Temple is not same with monthly schedules. Srinivas Khedam is assigned to work with Sastry Mukkamala and the priests to prepare monthly schedules with correct dates.  EC decided to post upcoming pooja monthly schedule outside the office one month prior in a calendar format. Also decided to give priests their weekly schedules one week prior.

7.       Srinivas Khedam will work on the schedule for upcoming events – Varalakshmi Vratam and Andal Jayanthi coordinating with religious committee and priests.

8.       Suri Raman gave a brief description on his idea for Membership drive. Santhosh Nair suggested that the local artist series need to have participation from all community so that more people will visit the temple which will help the membership drive. Satish Darbha also expressed his opinion.

9.       President explained about the proposal sent by Sivaram Kondamudi to start Balagokulam for kids to teach slokas, bhajans and spiritual stories and there were no any objections for this proposal.
